You Can Help!

anytime someone has a health crisis there are so many little and big things that help. it is usually extremely difficult, though, in the midst of a crisis to identify what you need and want, as all energy is focused on "getting through."  it may often be hard for them to call you and ask for help, but they will be grateful for any of these types of gestures.

rather than contacting Marc or his folks, would you consider trying one of these suggestions?   here are some ideas, compiled by the extended family:

for Marc:
  • you can pray (or have a positive outlook)
  • you can send Marc audio books (particularly historical fiction, biographies, and books about or set-in southeast asia)
  • or gift cards from iTunes (or email him credits from the itunes store) or from audibles.com
  • you can call or email or facebook and let him know that it's okay if he doesn't respond back if he's too tired
  • visiting this site and leaving him notes and comments
  • taking a picture of yourself or your family or friends with your rally hats and add them to the rally-hat gallery (email them to rallyformarc@gmail.com with names of people in photo)
  • if you are curious about his medical bills, talk to aunt wendy and uncle pat at 916-408-4774.
Marc loves his family who is caring for him. here are some ways you can support them:
  • you can spread the word about this site as a great way to help everyone stay connected with the "news" and updates about marc's treatment.
  • you can send gas-cards for the many trips to and from San Francisco for marc's treatment
  • while prepared food is not helpful because of the complexity of dietry restrictions, gift cards to local grocery stores, restaurants, or Starbucks are really helpful!
  • phone calls can be very supportive, especially when you communicate that you understand if they are unable to call you back.
